Nascar Chase for the Championship Edition
The curtain comes down on the 2008 Nascar season this weekend with Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
#99 Office Depot Ford Fusion driver Carl Edwards still has a shot at claiming this years Sprint Cup crown but does find himself facing a very uphill battle trailing by 141 points going into the weekend. Edwards though is just 56 points back in hoping to claim his second straight Nationwide Series title.
Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth both have been eliminated from any title hopes but both feel they've had very good seasons.
David Ragan has gone from being criticized by many Sprint Cup veterans to two-time Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart saying he deserves to be the Sprint Cup Driver of the Year.
Jamie McMurray is coming on strong as the season ends with back-to-back third place finishes and is hoping to use that to springboard to a successful 2009 campaign.
Bobby Hamilton, Jr comes to Ford Championship Weekend trying to lockup sponsorship for his Nationwide effort in 2009. Hamilton has finished no worse than third in the last Ford 300 races at Homestead.
And Erik Darnell is gearing up for his final run in the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series before moving to the Nationwide Series in 2009.

NHRA Countdown to One Edition
The 2008 NHRA Powerade Drag Racing Series ends its season this weekend where it started in Pomona, California.
Robert Hight, driver of the Auto Club of Southern California Ford Mustang for John Force racing, finds himself trailing points leader Cruz Pedregon by 39 points. Hight has been season runnerup the last two years and plans on changing that this weekend.

Nascar Chase for the Championship Edition
The battle for the 2008 Sprint Cup title moves to Phoenix International Raceway this weekend for the next to last race of the year. Carl Edwards, thanks to his second straight win, comes to the Valley of the Sun just 106 points behind current leader and two-time defending series champion Jimmy Johnson. Roush-Fenway teammate Greg Biffle is still hoping to claim the crown and is just 143 back.
Matt Kenseth comes to Phoenix still without a victory in 2008 and even though he has been eliminated from the title Chase, he thinks he's had a pretty good season.
Yates Racing's Travis Kvapil is looking forward to Phoenix and hopes his team can get some momentum for next year and to help garner much needed sponsorship.
The Nascar Nationwide Series is at Phoenix also and Bobby Hamilton, Jr. is hoping to back up his fall 2003 victory on the one mile layout with another one Saturday afternoon.
And, the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series heads into action Friday with veteran Rick Crawford feeling as if he's racing at his home track at Phoenix.

NHRA Countdown to One Edition
The NHRA Powerade Drag Racing series takes this weekend off before wrapping up the season in Pomona, California. Robert Hight, driver of the Auto Club/Los Angeles Dodgers Ford Mustang Funny Car heads to the final race just 39 points out of the top spot, a position he definitely wants after finishing as runner-up the last two years.
A year ago, driver and team owner John Force was recovering from severe injuries he suffered in a crash at Dallas. A week from now, he'll be strapped into his Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang at Pomona trying to put a period on a solid return to actoin.
Speaking of return to action, in honor of the 40th anniversary release of the first Ford Cobra Jet Mustang in 1968, Ford Racing introduced the 2008 Cobra Jet Mustang in Las Vegas this week at the 2008 SEMA Show. Jamie Allison, manager of the Ford Racing Performance Group, talks about the development of the car and what it means for Ford Mustang enthusiasts worldwide.

Nascar Chase for the Championship Edition
Three races remain to determined the 2008 Nascar Sprint Cup Champion. It's an uphill battle for Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle, who find themselves second and third in the points , 183 and 185 back respectively. Neither is throwing in the towel as they head to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend.
Matt Kenseth knows even though mathematically still is in the title hunt, overcoming a 413 point deficit is unrealistic. He's still energized to come to the track each week and hopefully get his first win of the season.
David Ragan is putting a strangle hold on the title of "best of the rest" as he holds down the 13th spot in the stnadings.
Jason Keller is looking for a big weekend in the Nascar Nationwide Series at TMS not only for his Baker Curb Team but also his sponsor Kimberly-Clark.

NHRA Countdown to One Edition
After a two week hiatus, the NHRA Powerade Drag Racing Series is back on the track running the next to last race of the season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Bob Tasca III, driver/owner of the the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Shelby Mustang is in a heated battle with fellow Ford driver Mike Neff for the Funny Car Rookie of the Year title.

Nascar Chase for the Championship Edition
It's off to Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend for the Nascar Sprint Cup Series. With four races remaining including this weekend's, it's an uphill challenge for Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards to track down two-time defending series champion and current points leader Jimmy Johnson. Both feel though that the last four tracks could favor them.
Matt Kenseth has given up any hope of claiming his second Nascar Sprint Cup crown but now wants to focus on gaining his elusive first win of the season in the last four races.
A big announcement from Ford Racing and Roush-Fenway Racing as they agree in principle to a multi-year contract extension. Brian Wolfe, director of Ford Racing Technology is pleased, but also says there will be some cutbacks in the Nationwide and Craftsman Truck Series. Owner Jack Roush was also glad to re-up with Ford but he too is slimming things down for 2009.

NHRA Countdown to One Edition
It's a second off weekend for the NHRA Powerade Drag Racing Series. That's just fine for Funny Car rookie Mike Neff the driver of the Old Spice Ford Mustang for John Force Racing.
Neff maded the top 10 and the Countdown to One and is on track to be the NHRA Rookie of the Year. He talks about that and his quest to grab his first ever NHRA Funny Car victory in the last two events of the 2008 season.

Nascar Chase for the Championship Edition
It's five down and five races to go to determine the 2008 Nascar Sprint Cup Champion. Matt Kenseth finds himself 11th and 360 points back headed to half mile Martinsville Speedway. Chip Bolin, the crew chief for the #17 DeWalt Tools Ford Fusion is hoping to overcome Kenseth's history at the track.
After a solid start to the Chase, Carl Edwards has had two bad finishes in a row. His crew chief on the #99 Office Depot Ford Fusion, Bob Osborne, is optimistic things could turn around this weekend.
Greg Biffle still remains third in the point standings but is now 86 out of the top spot heading to Martinsville. He's only had one top 10 finish in 11 tries at Martinsville. His crew chief on the #16 #m Ford Fusion Greg Erwin sees a big challenge in the paper clip that is Martinsville.
Car owner Jack Roush just wants to survive Martinsville, which has seen his three Chase drivers have only 7 top 10 finishes combined in 36 appearances there.
The Nascar Craftsman Truck Series is back at it at Martinsville and Colin Braun, the driver of the #6 Con-way Freight Ford F-150 is looking to continue his march to the Raybestos Rookie of the Year crown.

NHRA Countdown to One Edition
It's a two week break for the NHRA Powerade Drag Racing Series before it returns to action in Las Vegas. That gives Robert Hight, the driver of the Auto Club of Southern California John Force Racing Ford Mustang Funny Car to think and prepare for the final two races of the Countdown to One. Hight is 5th in the points but only 92 markers off the lead with those two races remaining.

Nascar Chase for the Championship Edition
It's under the lights at Lowes Motor Speedway as the Nascar Chase for the Sprint Cup fill hit its mid-point.
Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, and Carl Edwards will all be out to bounce back from poor finishes last week at Talladega and to gain ground on points leader Jimmie Johnson.
David Ragan right now is the best of those not in the Chase and comes to Lowes with gaining his first Nascar Sprint Cup victory as his goal.
And many gave Yates Racing very little chance to survive the season. Now, they've added a third team for next year and owner Doug Yates talks about turning the corner and building momentum for 2009.

NHRA Countdown to One Edition
The second half of the NHRA's Countdown to One begins this weekend with the Virginia Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park. John Force Racing's Robert Hight, who drives the Auto Club of Southern California Mustang goes into action third overall and just 74 points off the lead.
A weekend ago, Ford Mustangs won series championships both in the US and Europe. Scott Maxwell and Joe Foster combined to claim the Grand-Am Koni Challenge in their Ford Mustang FR500C while Eric de Doncker repeated as GT4 European Cup Champion in his FR500GT4.
Both outcomes backed up the faith that Jamie Allison, Manager of the Ford Racing Performance Group had in both teams and drivers.

Nascar Chase for the Championship Edition
It's been an exciting first three races of the 2008 Nascar Chase for the Sprint Cup, but this weekend add in 500 miles at Talladega Superspeedway. Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle, and Matt Kenseth are all in the thick of the title battle and all know that his weekend anything could happen.
While the focus is on the "Chasers" how about the other 31 drivers that don't want to be the one that takes out someone going for the title? David Gilliland talks about that and his solid runs so far at the 2.66 mile track.
You want excitement? How about Saturday's Nascar Craftsman Truck Series race where last year Mobile, Alabama native Rick Crawford lost by .014 seconds to Todd Bodine? Crawford is focused on getting the win this time.

NHRA Countdown to One Edition
It's the mid points of the NHRA Countdown to One and Castrol GTX Ford Mustang Funny Car driver Ashley Force finds herself fifth in the points coming off a runner-up finish a week ago in Memphis. Force is looking forward to a weekend off and making a charge in the final three races of the Countdown to One.
The Grand Am Koni Challenge brings down the curtain on its season this weekend at Virginia International Raceway. Two Ford Mustang FR500C teams find themselves first and second and separated by a single point.
Scott Maxwell will co-drive the #55 Hyper Sport Ford Mustang FR500C with Joe Foster and hopes to hang onto the top spot in the standing when the checkered flag falls.
Meanwhile, James Gue who'll be onboard the #37 JBS Motorsports Ford Mustang FR500C thinks he and teammate Brian Seafuse can bring their car to the title.

Nascar Chase for the Championship Edition

It's off to Kansas Speedway this weekend for round three of the Nascar Chase for the Sprint Cup. No one is hotter than #163M Ford Fusion driver Greg Biffle who has won the first two races of the Chase and is the defending champion at Kansas.
Biffle's crew chief Greg Erwin gets a lot of credit for what Biffle is doing and gives his overview on why they suddenly are unstoppable.
Carl Edwards has taken two third places finishes to move to the top spot in the Sprint Cup standings. He's getting on top his game and using his experience in the 2005 Chase as motivation.
Matt Kenseth is back in the hunt after a runner-up spot last weekend at Dover and is hoping consistency will get him back towards the top of the standings.
Team owner Jack Roush is smiling, and why not. He says his teams have got a very good handle on the COT and are brimming with confidence.

Nascar Chase for the Championship Edition
Round two of the Nascar Chase for the Sprint Cup takes places this weekend at Dover. Greg Biffle comes in off his first win in 33 races and third in the points. He's thinking championship. It's the final chance for David Ragan to make it into the top 12 in points and qualify for his first ever Chase for the Championship. Greg Biffle just needs to start the race at Richmond Saturday night to get in, while teammate Matt Kenseth needs a finish of 26th or better. Carl Edwards is in the Chase and will go out for a seventh win of the season.
Ford Racing Technology Manager of North American Racing Operations Doug Hervey is waving the Ford flag and is excited that 4 of the 12 cars going for the Sprint Cup title could be Ford Fusions.
Kelly Bires hopes to bring the #47 Clorox Ford Fusion home in the top 10 or better in the Nationwide race at Richmond International Raceway Friday night, while Keven Wood makes his 7th career NCTS start Saturday afternoon in the Wood Brothers #21 Air Force Ford F-150 at tricky Gateway International Raceway outside St. Louis.

Two races remain before the Chase for the Championship gets underway in the Nascar Sprint Cup Series. Carl Edwards locked up his spot with a second consecutive win last weekend at Bristol and returns to a track this weekend in California that he won at back in February. Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth are closing in on clinching spots for themselves in the Chase while Roush-Fenway teammate David Ragan is barely on the outside looking in.
It's the biggest weekend in drag racing as the NHRA Powerade Series invades Indianapolis for the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals. John Force Racing locked all four of their cars into the Countdown to the Championship last time out and can go for broke this weekend. The team also has three that will run in the $100,000 U.S. Smokeless Showdown. Robert Hight, Ashley Force, rookie Mike Neff, and team owner/driver John Force are all ready for a drive to a championship after a tragic 2007.
Both the Grand Am Rolex and Koni Challenge Series pay a first time ever visit to New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, N.J. Memo Gidley, co-driver of the #77 Ford Dallara Prototype will try for their first podium finish of the year. Ray Mason will be in the Koni challenge in his #52 Ford Mustang FR500C and hopes to figure out the new track quickly to move up in points.

All three of Nascar's top series are in Bristol, Tennessee this week to take on the wildest, most fan-packed half mile race track in the world.
Carl Edwards looks to keep his momentum going from winning last weekend at Michigan while teammates Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, and David Ragan are trying to solidify a spot in the Chase for the Championship. It's down to four races to go to qualify for the Sprint Cup Chase for the Championship as both the Nascar Sprint Cup and Nationwide series pay their second visit of the season to Michigan International Speedway. Carl Edwards looks like a lock, but Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, and even David Ragan have very little room for error the rest of the way. Jack Roush is thinking four cars into the Chase as his team takes on a track where his cars have seen victory lane 10 times in Sprint Cup action.
And Marcos Ambrose gets to do the double again at MIS and build upon a great weekend he had last Saturday and Sunday at Watkins Glen.

The Nascar Sprint Cup Series is at Watkins Glen. After watching last Saturday's Nationwide race in the rain at Montreal, many wonder if Nascar might ever run a Sprint Cup Series event on rain tires. Owner Jack Roush weighs in.
Carl Edwards is excited to be road racing especially with a win last weekend at Pocono and a second the week before at Indy. His Roush-Fenway teammate Matt Kenseth is trying to climb back into the Chase for the Championship with five races remaning before the cutoff.
Yates Racing's David Gilliland is once again looking for a sponsor for the #38 Ford Fusion but feels his team is getting the performance that should attract some dollars.
Nationwide regular Marcos Ambrose is trying to put the disappointment of not winning at Montreal last weekend behind him and focus on both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup races at the Glen.
The Nascar Craftsman Truck Series tackles the concrete at Nashville Superspeedway. Erik Darnell is looking to continue his run of top five finishes while Colin Braun, with a new 2009 contract in hand, hopes to solidify his spot as the leader of the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings.
The Grand Am Rolex Series is also at Watkins Glen, and the 61 AIM Motorsport Team will try and top last weekend's last 300 yards victory at Montreal. The Grand Am Koni Challenge meanwhile is on the road course at Iowa Speedway.
And NHRA Funny Car rookie Bob Tasca III is looking to make a charge to get into the top ten in points with three races to go before the Countdown to One begins.

The Nationwide Series speaks French this weekend as they visit Montreal. Brad Coleman, the driver of the #27 Kleenex Ford Fusion looks to build on an 8th place finish at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve turned in a year ago.
Robert Hight gets a breather after winning the Funny Car division at Sonoma last weekend. Hight is gearing up for a final three race charge in his Automobile Club of Southern California Ford Mustang Funny Car toward the Countdown to One.
And the Grand Am Rolex Seires is also in Montreal this weekend where Michael Shank Racing looks for a second straight podium finish with John Pew and Ian James behind the wheel of the #6 Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype.

It's now 17 straight weeks of racing for the Nascar Sprint Cup Series beginning with the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard this weekend.
Greg Biffle, driver of the #16 3M Ford Fusion wrapped up his week off by doing some celebrity coaching at Miller Motorsports Park outside Salt Lake city for the Ford High Performance Driving School. Biffle also is quickly turning is attention to Indy.
Roush-Fenway teammate David Ragan is having a great season and still has a chance to make the Chase for the Championship. Seven races remain to qualify and make the top 12 so is the pressure mounting.
Yates Racing (Robert Yates Racing then) has two victories at the Brickyard. David Gilliland and Travis Kvapil are hoping to add a third victory to that total on Sunday.
The Nascar Nationwide and Craftsman Truck Series both race just a few miles west of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the half mile O'Reilly Raceway Park. NCTS Raybestos Rookie of the Year points leader Colin Braun is doing double duty, running his #6 Con-way Freight Ford F-150 and then the #16 Citi Financial Ford Fusion in the Nationwide Series.
Double duty is nothing for Braun's truck teammate this weekend, Bobby East. East is also running three USAC events this weekend, two of those at ORP.

It's the last weekend off for the rest of the season for the Nascar Sprint Cup Series. Drivers Matt Kenseth, David Gilliland, and Travis Kvapil think the time off is good, but they'd still prefer being in a car.
The Nascar Craftsman Truck Series returns from a two week hiatus with a stop in Kentucky for the Built Ford Tough 225 where Rick Crawford has his sights on his first win of the season.
Robert Hight hopes to keep his momentum going in his Auto Club of Southern California Ford Mustang Funny car as the series heads to the Emerald City of Seattle.
The Grand Am Rolex and Koni Challenge series takes on Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. Oswaldo Negri, Jr..co-driver of the #60 Michael Shank Racing Ford Riley Daytona Prototype is looking for another top 10 finish. Jack Roush, Jr will be attempting to take his #59 Rehagen Racing Mustang FR500C to the front in the Koni Challenge.

For the first time ever, the Nascar Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will race under the lights this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. Carl Edwards, coming off his exciting second place finish at Daytona, is looking forward to the night race. Speaking of sponsorship, Doug Yates, co-owner of the team says he knew it would be an uphill battle but is pleased with the way his team has progressed.

It's off to Daytona for racing this weekend under the lights. Jamie McMurray will try and defend his exciting win over Kyle Busch in last July's race. Greg Biffle , Matt Kenseth, and Carl Edwards are all looking forward to 400 miles of wide open restrictor plate racing. Nationwide series regular Kelly Bires hopes to back up his February top 15 finish with another strong performance while NCTS Rookie of the Year candidate Colin Braun gets his second look at Daytona as he jumps onboard the #16 car for Roush-Fenway Racing.
At the Glen, it's the Grand Am Koni Challenge where Scott Maxwell and co-driver Joe Foster look for a second consecutive series victory in their #55 Ford Mustang FR500C.

The Nascar Sprint Cup Series returns from the left coast to make it's first of two stops at New Hampshire International Speedway. For the second week in a row, Australian Marcos Ambrose will be behind the wheel of the Wood Brothers #21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion. Marcos hopes to follow up his solid debut at Infineon with another strong run.
Speaking of strong runs, Yate Racing's David Gilliland heads to New Hampshire off a career best 2nd place finish last weekend. Teammate Travis Kvapil is excited about Loudon and new sponsor Ford Drive One.
Greg Biffle may not have a win yet this season, but the Biff feels he's about to break out with a streak of W's.
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. is set for New Hampshire and looks forward to it with a win and four top 10's in his previous six Nationwide starts there.
The trucks get to run in Memphis, where Keven Wood will get his second consecutive start in the the #21 Ford F-150 while Raybestos Rookie of the Year points leader Colin Braun hopes to put a bad night in Milwaukee in his rear view mirror.

It's off to Infineon Raceway in northern California this weekend for the Nascar Sprint Cup Series and that means the road racing specialists will be out in force. This time though, a Nationwide Series regular, Marcos Ambrose could be the ringer as he drives the #21 car for Wood Brothers Racing. David Ragan, who is barely out of the top 12 in points will do his second tour of duty on the road course of Infineon and he'll also be doing the double in the Nationwide Series all the way across country in Milwaukee as will Ambrose.
Speaking of doubles, Erik Darnell, who won the thriller last weekend in the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series at Michigan, will run both the trucks and the Nationwide Series race on the Milwaukee Mile as will Roush-Fenway Racing teammate Colin Braun. Wiley veteran Rick Crawford is looking for another solid weekend and a chance to move from his 5th spot in the points.
Last weekend, Alison MacLeod took her first ever USAC regional midget victory by having her #4 Ford Racing/Beast Midget out in front for all 50 laps at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois.
And at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, Andrew Caddell will try and go three for three in poles and wins in the inaugural Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup in his #9 TC Motorsports Ford Mustang FR500S.

The Nascar Sprint Cup, Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA Re/Max Series invade Michigan International Speedway this weekend. ARCA rookie and Roush-Fenway driver Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. comes into the weekend atop the series point standings. Saturday's truck race will see Eric Darnell try to climb up the points while rookie Colin Braun hopes to put the #6 Con-way Freight Ford F-150 in victory lane for a second straight season. The Sprint Cup race on Sunday hopefully will bring Ford a win in the virtual shadow of Detroit. Greg Biffle hopes to uphold the honor of the Blue Oval while David Gilliland looks to keep improving in his Yates Racing Ford Fusion. Defending Nationwide Series champion Carl Edwards finds himself shuttling between MIS and Kentucky Speedway this weekend. Oh, and car owner Jack Roush will thrill MIS fans on Saturday as he'll do the pre-race flyover in his P-51 Mustang.

The Nascar Sprint Cup Series makes its first of two stops at quirky Pocono Raceway. Cup drivers Carl Edwards and David Gilland talk about their test there. Greg Biffle and Edwards give their insight into their seasons to date. The Nationwide Series runs the concrete at Nashville Superspeedway and for Bobby Hamilton, Jr, that means he sleeps in his own bed. The NCTS is in the Lone Star state and that's fine with Raybestos Rookie of the Year points leader Colin Braun who is a state native. Roush developmental driver Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. looks to continue his stock car learning curve as the ARCA Re/Max Series is in Pocono.
Last weekend was an emotional one for Funny Car champion John Force as he claimed his first victory since an almost career-ending accident at Texas last season. And the Grand-Am Rolex Series is ready to take on the Glen.

The NHRA is back in action in Topeka where Old Spice Ford Mustang Funny Car rookie driver Mike Neff goes for a third consecutive finals appearance and his first career win. Team owner John Force talks about the new Boss 500 Ford engine that is powering Neff in the standings.
And Bobby East, who runs a partial schedule in the NCTS with Roush-Fenway Racing, is set to take over the points lead in the USAC National Midget series this weekend in Wisconsin.

It's the longest race of the Sprint Cup season this weekend with the running of the Coca Cola 600 at Lowes Motor Speedway. Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, and David Ragan think track position will be key after running in last weekend's Sprint Cup All Star race.
Kenseth feels his team may have turned a corner in their bad season and so does Roush-Fenway teammate Jamie McMurray. David Ragan is making a case as the most improved driver of the year after getting into the top 12 in driver points.
After stepping out of the 21 car voluntarily in March, Jon Wood is back in the seat this weekend for the 600. Cousin Keven Wood makes his 2008 Nascar Craftsman Truck Series debut at Mansfield.
Mike Neff is showing off the new Boss 500 Funny Car engine with back-t0-back NHRA Funny Car finals.
And after a 4 month break, the Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series is back in action at Lime Rock, Connecticut.

It's the Sprint Cup Series All Star Challenge this weekend at Lowes Motor Speedway, and Roush-Fenway drivers Greg Biffle, Jamie McMurray, and Carl Edwards are ready to go. After a two week break, the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series rolls onto Lowes Motor Speedway Friday night. Ford F-150 driver Rick Crawford looks to move up from his second spot in the driver standings while rookie Colin Braun sees if he can better his career best of third last time out. The NHRA is in Thunder Valley where John Force Racing's Mike Neff looks for his second consecutive career finals appearance in his Ford Mustang Funny Car. And the Grand Am Rolex Series is on the Monterrey Peninsula at Laguna Seca Raceway where #77 Doran Racing Ford Dallara Prototype co-driver Memo Gidley is thinking about garnering their first podium finish of the season.
